监测共掺Ce,Cr的钇铝石榴石单晶(YAG,Y3Al5O12)Cr3+离子发射的红光波段,其激发光谱在波长460 nm处有一个强烈的激发宽带,可以证实存在能量传递。比较Cr3+浓度相同的共掺Ce、Cr两种元素的晶体和单掺Cr元素的晶体,发现Cr3+的发射光谱在红光部分,前者的发射强度剧烈增加,比后者多出一个数量级。研究发现红光部分发射增强的原因是两种掺杂离子之间发生Ce3+(2E)到Cr3+(4T)的能量转移。

By measuring the emission spectra and the fluorescence lifetime of the 4I13=2 state of Er3+ ions in Gd2SiO5 crystal at different temperatures, the effects of temperature on the spectra and the lifetime of the 4I13=2 state are investigated. When the temperature increases, the emission line width for the 4I13=2 -> 4I15=2 transition is broadened, and the main emission lines at 1 596, 1 609, and 1 644 nm shifte toward shorter wavelengths. The measured lifetime of the 4I13=2 state decreases from 13.2 to 8.4 ms with temperature increase from 13 to 300 K, which is mainly due to the temperature dependence of multiphonon relaxation between the 4I13=2 and 4I15=2 states and the changing population distribution among the Stark levels within the 4I13=2 state. The experimental results imply that low temperature condition is better for the ~1.6- \mu m laser output.

Diode-end-pumped continuous-wave (CW) Tm:YAP and Tm:YLF slab lasers are demonstrated. The a-cut Tm:YAP and Tm:YLF slabs with doping concentrations of 4 at.-% and 3.5 at.-%, respectively, are pumped by fast-axis collimated laser diodes at room temperature. The maximum CW output powers of 72 and 50.2 W are obtained from Tm:YAP and Tm:YLF, respectively, while the pump power is 220 W, corresponding to the slope e±ciencies of 37.9% and 26.6%, respectively.

We report the luminescence properties and decay profiles of Ce:YAlO3, Mn:YAlO3; and Ce,Mn:YAlO3 crystals grown by Czochralski method. The spectroscopic properties show that both Mn2+ ions and Mn4+ ions exist in Mn:YAlO3 and Ce,Mn:YAlO3 crystals. The Mn2+ ions have a broad emission band of 60 nm in Mn-doped YAlO3 crystal at 530 nm. The luminescence spectra also indicate that there is significant energy transfer between Ce3+ and Mn4+ in Ce,Mn:YAlO3 crystal. Because of the energy transfer, the first decay component in Ce,Mn:YAlO3 decreases from 24.5 to 10.8 ns, which is much faster than that of Ce:YAlO3.

YAG:Ce crystal with a diameter of 110 mm is successfully grown by the temperature gradient technique (TGT). The effects of annealing on the luminescence efficiency of YAG:Ce crystal are investigated, and the optimal annealing temperature and atmosphere are obtained. The mechanism of variation behavior of the luminescence efficiency of YAG:Ce under different annealing conditions is discussed and some details on the luminescence associated with color centers are analyzed.

研究了掺铈铝酸钇(Ce:YAP)晶体的自吸收机理以提高其光产额等闪烁性能。用提拉法生长了不同掺杂摩尔分数的Ce:YAP闪烁晶体。室温下测试了不同厚度、不同摩尔分数和不同退火条件下Ce:YAP晶体的透过、荧光、X射线激发发射等光谱特征,并对可能存在的自吸收机理进行了分析。结果表明,Ce:YAP晶体的自吸收主要由Ce4+离子与氧离子配体之间的电荷转移吸收引起,根据电荷转移吸收理论可得其吸收峰在303 nm左右,与实验结果基本一致。本实验表明通过一定的退火工艺和掺杂控制减少Ce4+离子,将能有效地使样品的吸收边蓝移,从而减少Ce:YAP晶体的自吸收,提高闪烁性能。

报道了一种室温下高效率运行的激光二极管(LD)端面抽运Tm∶YAP连续波激光器。抽运源使用波长为795 nm的光纤耦合二极管激光器, Tm∶YAP晶体c轴切割, 掺杂原子数分数为3%, 尺寸为3 mm×3 mm×7 mm。当输出镜透过率T为10% 时, 获得8.12 W的1.94 μm连续波激光输出, 相对应的抽运功率为26.2 W, 阈值抽运功率为4.67 W, 斜率效率为52.1%, 光-光转换效率为31.0%。使用光栅单色仪测得激光器输出中心波长为1938. 2 nm, 谱线半峰全宽约为 2.9 nm。

在激光谐振腔中, 边缘冷却的激光晶体中存在着温度梯度分布, 从而使激光晶体等效为一个热透镜。热透镜效应对固体激光器的性能影响很大。由于热透镜效应, 振荡光光斑半径会随抽运光功率及激光谐振腔腔型结构的变化而变化, 这将影响输出光功率的大小。在考虑振荡光光斑半径随抽运光功率及谐振腔变化的情况下给出了速率方程的表达式, 并采用数值方法求解。由理论分析可知, 输出光功率与抽运光功率及谐振腔腔型结构有关。在相同的抽运功率下, 腔型不同输出光功率不同。采用930 nm纵向抽运, 发射光波长1030 nm的准三能级Yb∶YAG晶体在三种不同腔型结构下进行实验, 实验结果表明腔型结构对激光输出功率影响很大。实验结果与模拟符合较好。

We report a continuous-wave (CW) 2.1-\mum Ho:YAG laser operating at room temperature pumped by a diode-pumped 1.94-\mum Tm:YAP laser. The maximum output power of 1.5 W is obtained from Ho:YAG laser, corresponding to Tm-to-Ho slope efficiency of 17.9% and diode-to-Ho conversion efficiency of 5.6%.

采用丘克拉斯基(Czochralski)技术生长了掺铥硅酸镥(Tm:Lu2SiO5,Tm:LSO)晶体; 测量了LSO晶体在室温下的非偏振吸收光谱和非偏振荧光光谱; 利用窄得-奥菲特(Judd-Ofelt)理论计算了Tm:LSO晶体的窄得-奥菲特强度参数、振子强度、自发辐射概率、辐射寿命、积分吸收截面和积分发射截面。Tm:LSO晶体的强度参数为Ω2=9.1355×10-20 cm2,Ω4=8.4103×10-20 cm2,Ω6=1.5908×10-20 cm2; Tm:LSO晶体在1.9 μm附近有明显的发射峰(3F4→3H6跃迁),相应的辐射寿命为2.03 ms,积分发射截面为5.81×10-18 cm2,半峰全宽(FWHM)为250 nm。用Tm:LSO晶体在77 K温度下实现了激光运转。利用792 nm的激光二极管(LD)作为抽运源,获得中心波长为1960 nm的激光输出,抽运阈值为2.13 kW/cm2。
